work case studies
I am trying an experiment where I format wins and successes I have had on teams in the format of a Case Study - there is likely a better framing for this- where I can discuss and share the challenges, process, and outcomes of the win in a way that resonates and/or connects with team managers.
Stories:
Recently, as I was preparing a resume for a specific opportunity, I asked Chat GPT to review my resume and review the job posting and find the spaces where my resume didn't align with the job description.
I had GPT then create a series of questions to ask me to gather stories about when I was successful in those areas. I have had a habit of speaking into my voice transcription system when I have ideas, thoughts, or stories to tell so that I can keep these 'journals' for later reference. I recorded my answers and stories into a transcription service, then copied the text into GPT to give it context and reality to work with.
While there were a few that I could not speak to- I was able to give several success stories around these topics that GPT could then parse into Resume bullets.
Risk with AI
I am aware of how AI operates, at least at a basic level. It is effectively guessing about what you want to hear with very little by means of fact checking. I am aware that any information I get from AI needs to be fact checked and confirmed by me to ensure it is accurate. I make a habit of reviewing and editing anything that I get from AI.
Case Studies
When I realized that some case studies might be a helpful format to share my experience in, I asked Chat GPT (who had 20 to 30 success stories from me) to identify a variety of topics that I could format my case studies on. I opened the voice chat option and had it ask me questions about the situations that it didn't have- or needed more context around. I worked with GPT to format the stories in such a way that I thought was useful and then copied them into a word editor and refined the phrasing and facts of the stories.
